Hey Bloggers! Over the past few weeks, every Friday, we did a mathematics lesson on sport called me in a minute. We had all the activities we had to do in a minute.Today, we worked out all the scores in small groups. We worked out the mean, which is the middle number, range, which is the difference between the lowest and highest number. The average, which is the total divided by th number of times and the mode which is the common number. We started off creating a graph that shows our groups highest scores. In this activity, I learnt the range of our groups score. I did basketballs from the free throw line. The lowest score was zero and the highest score was four. So the range was obviously four.
Hey Bloggers! Today we are continuing on with multiplication, my goal is to work on multiplying fractions. I did fractions today by working on https://www.mathsonline.com.au. I think I was successful and I will continue on with another goal next week for independent maths. Here’s my evedince for today… ENJOY!!! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Hey Bloggers! This week the class has been focusing on role models. Role models is someone you look up to because they might be someone who does something you really want to do. We had to write about three of our role models we look up to. That… Stay strong, is a great person, teaching, shows leading ship and has care and support. This year I think I’ve showed my buddies how to be a great person and tought them different things when I saw them.
Hey Bloggers! You probably know what this post is about, because it’s Monday and by the title… INDERPENDENT MATHS! So we have to write about what we have thought about inderpentent maths this year. Did I enjoy inderpendent maths? Personally, I didn’t really enjoy it, but it is a good time to practice on what I need to catch up or work on. Although inderpented maths did help my understand parts of maths. I didn’t really learn much.
Hey Bloggers! As you know, we have been reading the book Wonder. Today we were required to find some precepts about the book. In the book one of the characters, Mr Browne the English teacher, taught Auggie and his class about precepts. Here are some precepts that inspired me… ENJOY!!!

The first precept inspired me because it’s explaining to not judge someone by their face. The second precept, inspired me bacuse its explaining that if you want the word or environment to change, YOU can make that change.
Hey Bloggers! Last week our class was required to write fact sheets about health with the topic of personal, mental, physical, social and spiritual. My group did “personal”. Here are some facts I learnt some facts from each group….
- Eyebrows are used for expression.
- Adults need at least 7-9 hours of sleep.
- Melanin is what makes our hair naturally different colours.
- Everyone also has Melanin in their skin that occurs freckles.
- For our age group, our recommended sleep hours are 9-13
- If we get less then 5 hours of sleep, it increases our lifespan 15%
- iPhones are connected to a local power station
- If you are born with light hair, it often gets darker as you get older.
- The more Melanin your hair has, the darker its colour is.
Hey Bloggers! For the past few weeks we have been focus on writing poems that involve resilience. My poem is about failure and eventually getting up and successfully completing goals. Bellow is my poem… ENJOY

Hey Bloggers! Today’s Monday, so we had independent maths. Over the past 3 weeks we have been completing mental maths sheets daily. My goal from working on mental maths, is to work on algebra, and know Roman numerals in the 7-8 digits. I’m going to work on http://www.mathsonline.com.au/ and I’ll know when I’ve completed my goal when my times are faster and my scores reach to 20/20.
Hey Bloggers! Yesterday the year sixes did the me in a minute challenge for our maths session. This is like the best maths session EVER because it involves sport. The whole point of the me in a minute challenge was to get as much done in a minute as possible. For an example… How many meters can you run of the ovel in a minute. The highest score in our class was 312 meters, my score was 288 meters. I think a goal for me is to work on how many basketballs I can score from the free throw line. My score was 3 and the highest score was 7. My other two goals for me is to work on is to become faster at burpees and squats.
Hey Bloggers! Today our class answered a few questions about R.J Palacio by watching interviews with Palacio explaining what inspired her to write Wonder.
Around 5 years ago Palacio took her sons out to a ice-cream store, her sons couldn’t help but stare at a girl with a severe craniofacial difference while they were there. Her face was similar to the main character in Wonder, Augest Pullman. Palacio’s 3 year old son reacted exactly the way you might think a three-year old would react when seeing something that scared him. R.J Palacio wrote wonder that night after seeing her sons reaction to the girl.
Another inspiration for Wonder was a song called “Wonder” by Natalie Merchant. The lyrics are basically about people’s differences.
BELLOW IS A WEBSITE THAT TALKS ABOUT R.J PALACIO’S INSPIRATION….
